Avett Brothers Concert!

Sooo, I went to an Avett Brothers concert last night, and they WERE AMAZZZZZZIINGGG!!!!!!!

Funny story though, me and my friends looked up the concert, and to the best of our ability, we couldn't tell if there was a cover band or not.  So this handsome guy who looks kinda like the singer from the Avett Brothers comes on, and starts to play, but after 40 minutes he peaces out!  I was like, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" - but I asked around and found out it was actually Langhorne Slim playing...

After they left I waited for the band to set up, and after about 30 minutes they finally walked in and the place EXPLODED WITH NOISE! Everyone stood up, got excited, danced, and it was AWESOME!!!!

BOATIN!!!!

In the rain, but it was so much fun!  Ran my first class 4 (/4-), combat rolled, and didn't swim once!  It was definitely the amazing adventure I needed to get me back into kayaking.

I think a lot of the credit for the amazing experience goes to the people I went with.  My old RA, Phil, was both our guide, and the crazy guy who went down all the big stuff.  My friend Kelly, who was smart about what she (and therefore I) chose to go down, smiled the whole time! (cept when she swam...)  And then there was Blake, who was crazy - but awesome!

We also had some really amazing car conversations too.  Which made it even better!

And... PICS! as always!

LET'S GO BOATIN!

Preppin the boats for the journey!

When it comes to boating, function comes before fashion

The Crew! Phil is in front, Blake is in the back, and Kelly is the girl!

Ol Faithful!

A Happy Boater!

THE BULL!!! I Was thinking of going down, but thanks to some good judgment from my buddies, we decided it wasn't a good idea... (Phil did though!)

Kelly went swimming!  And here's Phil putting in a heroic effort to get her boat back to her!

Btw, this reminds me of a quote:
"The adventure starts where the plan stops"
It's not necessarily fun when you have someone else's boat and paddle floating down towards you, and you have to find a way to get them both to shore ASAP.  BUT, at that point you are totally engaged, physically and mentally, with the challenge ahead of you.
I always like moments like that because they push me to be the best I can be.

Kelly's back!

THE 4! (/4-).

Part 2...

The final hurtle, in sepia for the sentimental effect!

And then! We went back to my friend's place, chilled for a little while, then I finally went home and got dry! (that was the best part of the day! haha - kidding!)

Conquering My Fears!

Well, apparently I didn't land very well, but I'm not very bothered by that!  It took a good bit of guts to get me to jump off that platform in the first place!

I'll put up more videos soon! (of other peeps jumps)

ENJOY!

SPRING LOVE!
So, funny story about this.  At first the boy was chasing the girl around, trying to get her attention.  Then the girl came back and chased the boy around trying to give him a kiss!

More to come!

Hope yal have a wonderful week!

A Brief Tidbit About Me AND First Post!

Hey yal!

So...  I figured I'd try out blogging.  I'm 20 years old, an Environmental Health Major at UGA, and I LOVVEEE the outdoors.  I just finished doing a 365 project (all on facebook) and have been craving something similar.  I figured blogging would be a good alternative.
     ANDDDDDDD

    First post:

So I recently got told that my job as an outdoor trip leader may be coming to a close.  SADDD I know, I'm going to miss everyone, and all the good times, but I figured I'd make this post to commemorate all the good times!
